Smile Check out this book

If you like books about nature and wildlife, you will love this book. It mostly deals with birds and wetlands but there are some herps too. It is full of great photos and interesting stories and the proceeds go to the California Waterfowl Association. b.t.w. the Author is my Grandfather.

Check it out. A Jewel in the Pacific Flyway

Thanks, it was first published less than two years ago. It's really about my Grandfather's life working at Grey Lodge. Every page has at least one picture which makes it a great coffee table type book. I wish I could show you some of the pictures but I'm not about to bend up my copy to scan it.

"John B. Cowan is a nationally recognized waterfowl expert who has devoted his life to observing, preserving, photographing, and writing about wetlands and their inhabitants. From 1938 until his retirement in 1980, he was affiliated with the California Department of Fish and Game. Thirty-two of those years were spent as manager of Gray Lodge Wildlife Area in Northern California."

I'll be having a look for that one. Thanks Mike. Looks like a great Christmas gift, too.
