silly kali!

I just fed Kali an extra mouse because vertigo wouldn't eat.. so now her belly is, VERY full.. but when she was eating she was having a tough time! , she kept swinging the mouse around in her enclosure. Then she would try to eat again and have to stop and back up! , she did this like 5 times
finally she got it down, but it was covered in saliva, and therefore the aspen was sticking to it. so she ingested peices of aspen with the mouse! ... should she be ok with the extra mouse? and the aspen?

Question Just my two cents…

There are always two sides to every story… Some people say the wood aspen bedding is bad for the digestive system. If too much bedding is taken in, it may block the digestive track and cause problems that my result in the death or your royal python.

Others say,.. In the wild royal python digest all kinds of things like grass, twigs, dirt, bark, rocks and pellets all kinds of stuff you would find on the ground…

I personally have never had a fatality connected to aspen bedding… Knot to say it cant happen… But since I do have some pretty expense morphs I’m not taking any chances….

So, I us the small aspen sana-chip for everyday bedding. And regular aspen bedding for nesting my females during ovulation…

WHY do I use the sana-chips: I feed live rodents and sometimes I will notice a royal python missing there target and getting a mouth full of bedding… But with “Sana-Chips” being about 3 to 5cm Square in size, it shouldn’t be a big problem getting throw to the other end…

Is it better? I don’t know… But in my mind it makes a little sense...

Give it a shot and see if you like it…
