question for cham owners
I was thinking of getting a panther cham, however, an important question came to mind. if you are to feed them every day, what happens if you go away? what if you go on vacation for a couple weeks? even, what if you go for a couple days? just curious...

Couple of days.. put a tray with mealies, silkies, etc.
I went away for 5 days.. prior to that I fed him a bit more and also left some food in trays.
Problem is water... I had my neighbor spray morning and evening and fill a dripper daily.
If you can't have someone do this for you, you need to buy a timed water system.
As for how long is the maximum they can go without food.. I don't know.. If I would of left more than 5 days, I would of had someone go and feed him.
Hope this helps.

Vacation? I'm not sure I know the meaning that word. I'll have to look it up some day... after I stop owning chameleons. :/
Seriously though, I haven't been away from the collection for more than a day or two, so I just make sure they are clean, fed, watered and the dippers are filled before I go. If, by chance, I did have to go away for a longer period of time, I guess I would pay someone to come in everyday and do my work.

Lordkovacs..
an automatic water system is pretty expensive.. 200$+ depending on where you live.
It's rarely a good investment, but it can be for some people.
It consists of a pump sending water thru tube with a spraying end. You can set this pump to mist a couple of times a day, for the amount of time desired.
I once shopped for one and it was over 300$, then I went in a hydroponic shop(plants) to get one and they had a similar system for less, but it wasn't exactly what I needed. So, I asked my neighbor to do it while I was in vacation... it only cost me 4 rainbow trouts
