Woke up the this morning and found an new addition to our collection. It looks like it hatched not more than a few hours ago.
So I made a home for it and when I went to take it out of the little cup I had it in. It screamed and ran up my shirt. I then noticed that it has something hanging out of its tommy?
Is this normal? HELP

Where the they eat in the egg ( the slant in the tummy) It has what looks like a heart or a liver... but i am not sure if its something that will go away after a while( like is it a food supply for him) do leo's have things hanging out of them when they come out of the egg????

It sounds likt the yolk sac wasn't completely absorbed before the gecko emerged. Its not uncommon if this is the case. Keep it on moist paper towel or newspaper and the remnants should be absorbed or detach in the next couple of days.

Hopefully its not some sort of genetic anomoly with external organ development. What color is the tissue? Is it attached at the umbilicus or in a different part of the animal's abdomen?

Yup it's the umbillical cord/yolk sac. Leave it alone. He might be planning to eat some of it. This happened to mine. Eventually he bit it off and left some remainder.

It was probably the remainder of the egg yolk. If this is the case, the yolk will be absorbed within a week. If you suspect something else, take it to the vet. Good luck!
