Ball Python 1st timer!

I have an acrylic fish tank that I would like to use as a Ball Python setup. Has anyone encountered any problems using acrylic? What about heating mats and heat lamps? Will this affect the acrylic? Any tips?
Thanks!

I keep a 150 Gal Reef Tank, with 3 400 MH Radiums Hanging over them. The water was a consistant 83 degrees with drops and highs.

So as far as ambient heat is concerned that should not be a problem. As for heattape I would buy a piece of acryl and test it out before attaching it to your expensive acrylic tank :P
