New garters pics!
Told you I'd get pics! I had to snitch part of their hide... There is a larger rock that goes on top of the two smaller ones, along with some fake plants, but you get the idea!
Maurice is the one on top, looking up. The bottom one is Dangerous Beans (Danger for short.)
This is what I ment by dismatling the hide - those are the two smaller rocks I mentioned. Maurice is on the left, Danger more to the right.
Here Maurice was just a little to fast for me... oh well... at least you can see his stripe well!

Nice looking snakes!
Um, I hope you don't have "real" rocks balanced like that. It's just a matter of time before it falls off and crushes one of the snakes. It may seem like a good idea as far as looks go, but it's just not safe! Sorry to rant, but I had to say something...
Again, nice garters!

No, they're not real rocks, and I try to keep it all secure with a bit of masking tape, just to be on the safe side.

Just a heads up on the tape..............I have heard of someone whose BCi got a little too close to a label(the sticky side), on some cage decorations, I believe. The snake was rubbing, trying to get it off, and removed some of his skin in the process. I used to use a little masking tape in one of my enclosures to hold a hide in place, but have since removed it, as I am afraid the same will happen to her.

I've never had any problems, but I'll keep a closer eye out now... and I'll prolly think about investing in something else...

yes, I thought they'd never come out. This time of the year you can walk through my backyard and pick up about half a dozen, not even looking. Dad won't let me actully *buy* a snake, not that I have an money to do so. :P

i once put a small peice of masking tape in the vivarium with one of my garters. IT was also to secure a hidebox, the snake still managed to tip the box and get the tape on him. i had to put olive oil on him and remove it very carefully, i was LUCKY, if i were you i would try to figure something differnt to secure the rocks, so the same thing dosent happen to you.

what little sweety's! good luck. ( if your parents don't approve then it's probably for good reason. wild caught is so unfair. it's like putting you into shed. think about it)
