Can my boa get ibd from my iguanas mites?

My pepper is my baby and I would be absolutely heartbroken to lose her. My iguana came from strictly reptiles who sells snakes too. He came with mites. Can he give my boa ibd? She is up on a dresser in my room and he is on the floor in the living room. My bedroom is on the opposite side of the living room wall, could mites walk all the way to pepper? I can’t lose my pepper and would never forgive myself if I caused something to happen to her. Did I give my baby inclusion body disease by bringing him in here? The place he came from sells snakes too and he got delivered with mites. Can she get ibd from his mites?

IBD is a virus and there are reported cases of it being transmitted via mites. It also spreads through contact and appears to be airborne to a limited degree as well.

But iguanas don't get IBD (to my knowledge), so any mites would have needed to start on a snake with IBD, move to the iguana, then transfer to your boa. Mites tend to be somewhat species specific so I'm not sure that a lizard mite would affect snakes, or vice versa (I'm sure some mites could infect both).

But all of this requires a snake having IBD in the first place. Did the vendor announce it found IBD in its stock? Why do you believe your snake may have IBD? There are a lot of diseases that are transmitted by insects but, for example, you're probably not going to get malaria from a mosquito in the US, and most people that get bit by ticks won't get Lyme disease.

No but if the iguana came with mites and stuck shed then that shows how much they take care of the animals. He came from someone called strictly reptiles that sells boas and pythons too. There hasn’t been any reviews that show someone got one with ibd. Ibd has always been a huge huge concern for me. He has the bright red ones. I am super worried about pepper and that they will crawl from his cage in the living room to hers that is in my bedroom

In peppers water I found a clearish bug with black or brown stripes on it, that isn’t a mite right???? It wasn’t round but it was clearish pink or white

It is unlikely to be a mite

Iguanas are commonly wild caught, or 'farmed,' which is a fancy way of saying wild caught from a specific area. Wild caught and farmed animals typically come with mites and other issues, including stuck shed, scars, missing toes or tail tips, etc. Sellers will generally disclose whether their stock is captive bred or not; how was your iguana labeled?

You can always treat the floor between the rooms with an appropriate insecticide to keep the bugs from spreading. But I wouldn't be too concerned about them moving, they probably can't get too far away from their food source and they might not even recognize a boa as being a possible host.

I only have to check pepper for the bright red mites and not black,brown,or dark red ones since those are what he has, right???
