Ahh... a favour to ask :]

Hey,

I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just asking a small favour to those who wish to comply :] But could you please please try and punctuate what you write? It can be really hard to discern one idea from another in a 4-line, run-on sentence with no punctuations at all.

Thanks all!
Zoe

I will try.

Zoe, I think you missed a comma between please and please.

I totally agree. That is one of my pet peeves... as I stated before in another post... it's much easier to read, and makes you smart, too . Thanks Zoë!!

Well, since we're getting into pet peeves about grammar, let me ask this: Is it so hard to write the words "for" or "to"? Are they really so long to type that using numbers in their stead is warranted?

alt + 137 is a shorter way to get ë :]
I type "for" and "to" completely, but I don't mind "2" and "4". So long as I understand what they are talking about!

I'm glad you all agree, and don't think I'm b!tching about stupid things :]

It's okay if people use numbers or abreviations to shorten a word. We can all still read it, right? I don't think it's much of a problem. But when people don't use commas and periods I can't read it! I get confused and all that crap... you know what I mean . Thanks!

Using numbers to abbreviate 2 and 3 letter words is just plain lazy, that's why it bothers me. It's understandable to abbreviate long words or phrases, but it's just irritating when you take it to such an extreme. I takes only one or two more keystrokes to do it right, is that such an arduous task? It's not even like this is a chat room, you can take your time to post in a forum...so, for the love of the English language, people need to take that extra 1/2 second...I beg of you!

I am prolly the worst and not using punctuatation and spelling! I have always been a geek and knew I would be a tech. I hated english class, and if it was not for cheating would have never passed it

But hey I am 27 years old and have reached my goal of what I wanted to be, and I am making the money I was hoping to be making at this age. Plus I am working on creating my own company so I have proved you don't have to be good at it

I agree with you all tho, I am bad about not proof reading my posts, and will sometimes go back and read what I have wrote, and will have no clue what I was trying to say

any way SORRY in advance !

Oh, and also GROSS typos. A couple little typos is okay, but sometimes I see two or three per line of text... it only takes a minute to re-read your text :]

Thanks again!

We have to remember that for some people here English is a second language. Though I have seen some people who's second (or third) language is English writing with better grammer and spelling then people that have been speaking (and perhaps reading) English their whole life. Using numbers for words makes the text less readable. Mind you reading skills seem to be at a premium too, as I've seen a few times where some one will post one thing and people will jump on them because they misread the text.
