Unhappy Japanese rat snake not eating

So, I got a pair of Japanese rat snakes back in March. The female was a very bad eater and spent almost two months rejecting food, but in the end she's my best eater of the two and now takes perfectly anything you offer to her. The male was a very good eater, but after coming from holidays in mid-August, he's just refused to eat. Anything. I've tried with live prey, dead prey, good sized prey, small prey, mice, quail eggs, chicken liver, he just refuses to eat anything, and he's getting very thin. They're CB 2017 and I was hoping to breed them next season, but now I'm more concerned about getting him to eat again. I've been force-feeding him small pieces of chicken liver and whole newly born pinky mice, just so he doesn't starve to death. I'm quite desperate so any tip is welcome, thanks in advance

Re: Japanese rat snake not eating

My pair have gone off eating again as well. Likely breeding season, they did the same thing last year. Wouldn't eat for months, but it didn't do them any harm.
