Exclamation eBay UTH?

Has anyone used the I power ones eBay has with the thermostat? They are for hydroponics but I don't see why they couldn't be used for reptiles. I'm looking for a super cheap way to make a tub enclosure for a red tail. Thanks

Re: eBay UTH?

I haven't personally used that model, but I have used the digital Jump Start thermostats and the Zilla manual rheostat models. For the most part I'm biased and I solely use Herpstat proportional thermostats.

Re: eBay UTH?

I have no reptilebasics.com will assemble heat tape with a cord for you. It is less expensive than buying a UTH at a store and works just as well. For tstats, I would definitely not go cheap. It's worth saving up for a good one since your reptile's life depends on it not sticking in the ON position and causing burns or overheating the animal. Herpstat is definitely a top notch brand and that's what I use for all heat tape. For controlling cooling devices and large heating devices like Airconditioners/fridge/whole room heating I use Ranco ETC. For whole room heating devices, I use a cheap tstat like hydrofarm as a backup in case the ranco ever fails in the on position.
