Species ID please

Can anyone please identify which species of snake this is.. It was killed and bottled along with the processed Gerkins as seen in the image. Location INDIA.

Well I'm stumped. It looks exactly like a juvenile New World Rat Snake in the Black Rat complex (Pantherophis sp.), but how could it of ended up in a pickle jar in India? Are those pickles imported or domestic? It would be easier if its head wasn't mangled. Is there any chance you could take the snake out of the jar and get close-ups of the head, as well as a full body shot?
