Little guy still hasn't shed

After 4 feedings I figured I would have figured my bci would be showing some sign of shedding or something.
He is fed once a week on fuzzy mice( except the first week I feed him a pinky because he seemed too small for fuzzy's). He seems to be growing as well. Am I just being crazy or should he be shedding more often?

Low temps: 75-82
High side: 83-88
"Basking area"- 92

Humidity is 70%- 80%

Sometimes yes sometimes no. As long as its eating and growing no need to worry. it will shed when its ready.

I could just be overreacting. I don't know. I just wanted to make sure he's getting enough food and everything. And just make sure I'm not missing anything

Re: Little guy still hasn't shed

I wouldn't worry, sometimes they just like to wait to shed.

I've had my girl for about 6 months and she's only shed once, which was about 2 months after I got her. She hasn't shed yet despite growing several inches and putting on nearly 50 grams since then. I haven't been feeding her biweekly for long, but even when I was feeding her weekly she still didn't shed.

As long as he's growing and looks healthy, I wouldn't really worry, he will shed when he's ready.

If your worried not enough food make sure he has a small lump when he eats. Feeding every 7-10 days is good and yea he will shed when he has too. I was the same way when I first got into snakes

Yeah I think now that I've upgraded to larger fuzzy's he's getting enough food. I was just afraid to move up quickly and have a regurge, blockage or scale separation.

Most boas are born large enough to take mouse fuzzies. Mine came to me at a month old already big enough to eat hoppers (she was 80 grams at the time).

I must have missed that the first time around. Pinkies are bad for boas, the milk belly can upset their stomach or kill them in extreme cases. It can cause anything from constipation to regurges. Not all are affected by it, but it's common enough to avoid them.

You should also notice better growth on a more fully-formed rodent than a pinkie, pinkies are nothing but bags of water pretty much. Little to no nutritional value.

Re: Little guy still hasn't shed

Yeah I honestly wouldn't have if he wasn't so small. I have never seen a baby as small as he was
