Hognose sleeping in water bowl

Hello, my hognose slept in her water bowl today. I've seen her soaking in there and falling asleep recently. It worries me because I'm afraid she'll get too cold and get a RI. I've looked for mites and there aren't any. She doesn't seem to be going into shed either.. Temperature on the hot side is regulated at ~90F. Haven't checked the cold side. I do have a purple bulb and it's quite bright. Would a red bulb be better? Should I be concerned?

Re: Hognose sleeping in water bowl

Update: temperature around water bowl is 71F. She usually just sits with part of her body or just her chin in the water

Re: Hognose sleeping in water bowl

Do you have a hide on the cool side of the cage? Maybe your hognose is using the water bowl as a hide?

Mine has done this almost every single day since I got her. She still eats like a champ and is active so I'm not really worried about it.

Re: Hognose sleeping in water bowl

I have 2 cold hides and lots of bedding. She's had an RI before and I had to give her shots for it, so it makes me nervous when I think she's too cold. However, she has a great appetite so I guess I shouldn't be so worried.
