Awesome pics! I love the video of the milk snake, it's almost like he realized the camera wasn't a threat and became curious about it.

Thanks! Glad to be able to share my finds.
I guess with such a serious injury in it's past, the milk snake had good reason to be aggressive. I think I would be too.

Re: Found 3 snakes today [photos & videos]
Good herping day and great pics, gratz.
Seems odd that the eastern milk bit you. I've only found 2 of those, a wee baby and a 4-5' adult, but neither one was the least bit inclined to bite or even strike. Quite calm actually, particularly for wild snakes just found and picked up. I wonder if the old back injury had something to do with the disposition?

I think if I was a snake at all I would be, considering how they're treated....
What camera do you use? What program do you use to watermark your pics?

Thanks. Strange, almost every Eastern Milk I've ever found has been aggressive. I can only think of one that wasn't, actually. I usually get tail rattling and striking - the whole 'show'.

I was using my Canon SX20is with polarizing filter (which I probably should've taken off, but was too excited about snakes, lol). The super-macros of the garter were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S4 with macro lens.

It was so calm! I couldn't believe it just sat there in my hand.
