Baby Sand Boa acting strange

So I've had my baby striped KSB for about a month now. It's around 5 months old and is routinely eating F/T pinkies every 5-7 days and has steadily gained weight the entire time I've had it.

Normally, the thing stays entirely out of site, burrowed underneath. I have it in a 7 quart Very Useful Box with top and side vents soldered into it, with a heat pad on one side regulated to 90F and a small ceramic water dish on the other side. Hot side has a 2"x2" ceramic tile (which the little boa is almost always underneath). Bedding is aspen shavings.

Well tonight I came into the room, popped the lights on, and the little bugger was belly up against the side of the box trying to escape! With any of my other snakes, I'd be like "Oh dude you're just doin' you! Haha, ya dummie!" but this snake just didn't seem like the species that would do that. Did I just catch it for the first time? I'm just worried my husbandly is off.

If your feeding cycle is 5-7 days and its been 6 he could just be exploring for food.

I would say it's looking for food, or if it's a male, it's quite possible he's already looking to breed. I have a 7 month old Albino Paradox male that went right to work breeding my adult female Albino Paradox when I put him in with her...

Here is a picture of the 50 gram male locked with my 500+ gram female
