Proper Vent Location

One of several details I'll need to work out as I build the enclosures.
VENTS: I was planning on putting 3-4 small round vents on the back wall.
Is that enough? (should I put larger rectangle vents instead or combined?)
Where should I put them?
Up high, half way up, down low???

Ha, I thought you meant vent as in the "cloaca" area! I was like, what is that supposed to mean? XD

I like plenty of ventilation in my enclosures, so I drill about 16 holes 5/16 inches in diameter in the upper 1/4 of each enclosure. The holes are in two alternating rows about 4 inches apart and are small enough to prevent all but the tiniest of snakes from being able to escape and yet large/numerous enough to provide good ventilation. It's worked well for me.

I wasn't sure with the enclosure being 6'Lx3'Hx28"D what would be best.
That's much easier than drilling and installing vents.

Venting from the sides will keep humidity in, while venting from the top will let humidity out. You need to determine what humidity levels you need for the kind of snake you plan on keeping before you install vents. Also the vents should be adjustable to regulate the air flow.

Agreed. Its all about what will be kept in the enclosure as to how big and how many vents will be needed. Ie. if keeping brb or etb you will want less and smaller vents than you would for a king or corn.

One enclosure will house my SD Retic.
The other will house a Carpet Python. Either a very docile dog tame rescued 9 yr old 8' Jungle Carpet named Oorah. A US Marine had to give him up before she deployed.
The other option I have is I'm supposed to meet with Kerry Kings snake keeper, Todd on my next road trip to Southern Cali to pick one of their young Carpets.
