Hi all; I have a 1yr old IJ, who is a growing boy, and I want to upgrade his habitat. He is currently in an exo terrarium, 24x24x36 tall. He enjoys climbing, but i feel like he'll need more floor space as he gets bigger.
I like having the front doors, but thats not absolutely necessary. I would prefer something I can just buy (that wont break the bank too much) as opposed to a DIY, as I don't have access to tools or workspace right now.
Should I get something that has a fake rock background? Lots of branches? I want him to be happy & comfortable.
honestly look into animal plastics cages. they have great quality cages and are reasonably priced. I have a stack of 4 cages that are 4 foot by 2 foot and love them.

and a pretty big wish list......
I second animal plastics, or constrictors NW(Ed Lilley makes custom backgrounds for his cages).
You could add lots of branches, and then take them out when he gets too big and heavy for them.
Here is a stack of 3x2x2 and 2x2x18" caging. I will be taking out those branches as my carpets become full grown and too heavy to perch on them. Then I will probably replace them with one or two very thick branches or shelves to support their weight.

The others made good recommendations regarding where to get a new enclosure. I want to address your comment regarding wanting more floor space as your snake gets older. There is nothing wrong with floor space at all- these snakes use both. I feel that many people believe, and some advocate that as a carpet python gets older it becomes less arboreal. I believe (as Mikoh kind of indocated) that this is largely due to older snakes not having access to secure branches or perches. A male IJ is not a big snake and if you chose to offer it height for the duration of its life, I feel that he will use it.

+1 I agree. This is about as big as most IJ's will get(the snake in the video is actually a darwins). You can see how good at climbing they are as adults, they just need something that can support their weight.
