Reptile shipping question *urgent*

Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong section but oh well.
Anyways i ordered a snake online and its supposed to come this Tuesday however i won't be home till 3pm, my neighbor agreed to sign the signature box thing. He however will not open the box since he fears snakes..will my reptiles be okay in the box while i get home that day? Thanks!

Re: Reptile shipping question *urgent*

It should be fine if it is kept in the box for a few extra hours in a temperature controlled environment

He will be fine if properly packed and not left in the cold. I shipped out some geckos last week, and they missed the plane and took 2 full days. They were still fine and I shipped to upstate NY.

Have the recipient keep the package at room temperature and it should be fine.

It could go very wrong if they try and "keep the package warm" for you, or otherwise try and manipulate the temperature.

It would be great to open the top flap and get some fresh air in the box upon arrival, but if that is a phobia issue, then just keeping it at room temp should be fine.

Re: Reptile shipping question *urgent*

like everyone said, it should be fine. Just one thing to keep in mind, a lot of breeders have a time limit on notifying them of problems. Many live animal guarantees require the buyer to notify the seller of any problems within a certain amount of hours.
