Herp vet people I need assistance.
How long does it usually take for a burn to heal? I have been cleaning it with antiseptic and neosporin everyday. She has yet to shed but I am wondering when these blisters will subside. Thank you in advance. I have owned this snake for about a month and have been treating her since day one.

Keep her on paper towels and stop treating her unless it looks infected. Once she sheds one or two times it should be fine.

Thank you. I have had her on towels since I noticed the wounds. This is why I love this forum.

Re: Herp vet people I need assistance.
you won't notice much of a change UNTIL she sheds, as that is their main method of skin regeneration. Look up my thread about demeter my rescued milkshake, you can see the progress of her wounds across several shed cycles. she is now almost completely healed, you would only notice the marks if you knew to look for them.
I agree with Ssssnakes, i think you could stop treatment for now. The only thing i might recommend is some SSD (silver sulfadiazene) creme applied 1x/day for ~2 days after the shed, but otherwise, it will more than likely heal on its own.

if you post some pictures we can give you better answers mate
imo it all depends on the severity of the burn, as to how long it will take to heal
burns dry out, turn brown, then scab, usually the shed after the scabs fall off, gives a decent improvement on how it looks
cheers shaun

Re: Herp vet people I need assistance.
someone on here said that Neosporin is Petroleum based? which definitly should not be used on reptiles (can stop wounds healing), not come across the brand myself here in the UK, but check the ingredients for yourself...

I have been diluting the triple antibiotic ointment with ky jelly to make sure it rinses clean and does not leave residue.

i'm not sure how KY would stop it leaving a residue, the only way to breakdown oil is with detergent, which is obviously not a good idea
use water based antibiotic products - but imo there is no need to use antibiotics unless an infection is present, every use of antibiotics increases the number of bacteria with resistance. If no infection is present, you can use antiseptics like iodine, or simple salt-water solution, which are just as effective for cleaning, without increasing resistance to antibiotics
