Question such disappoinment, & substrate question.

well my order came in!
i guess they gave me a faulty tracking number or something.
but now i have free shipping on my next order! yay!
its honestly not as big as i thought it would be.
its kinda tacky looking.
but they each like theirs, so oh well. as long as they're happy.
though the tank is nicely set up now, finally.

i had my first day at my new job today, and 2 interviews before i went in, almost positive i got the one. So as soon as my paycheck comes in, these guys are getting more fake plants, substrate, and more moss.

I have a question though about substrate. i want to make 3/4 of it coconut fiber, and the 1/4 moss. Is that okay? they adore the moss in the humid hide.

I want to really go with a natural look.

opinions anyone?

Post pics! As for substrate I use eco earth (fine ground cocohusk) mixed with large chunk cocohusk. You could mix it with moss but I would think the substrate would get too damp and could cause scale rot.

I need to find a store around me that sells it, i cant find it anywhere and theres 5 pets store within a 10 minute drive -.- everyone uses aspen, but i dont like the fact its so dusty, and i have allergies. either they dont have it, or theyre out. nocticed not many have reptile stuff right now. i might be better off ordering it online.
I have to figure out a way to post pics, its so annoying, i have a chrome book, so it does let me do it. I tried photobucket last night, but it kept freezing. I'm going to try again in a little bit.
and im not sure, the moss i have outside of the hide, doesnt stay wet at all. but i think that because im using lamps. once christmas money comes in, im ordering them the uth and thermostat. i need to find a good price digital thermometer. on a tight budget, but i want something accurate.

amazon.com

Type in kritter's crumble. They have a fine and coarse grain bedding. I personally like the fine grain(it's much chunkier than eco earth though)

I like the fact that has nice rating on it, and its not too expensive. What kind of snakes do you use it for? I want to make mine feel at home, safe, and secure. And how well does it retain moisture?

Re: such disappoinment, & substrate question.

I've used it for boas, carpet pythons, cornsnakes, kingsnakes, green tree pythons...etc all the snakes I've ever owned. Those that burrow will burrow in it.

It retains moisture fairly well. But of course humidity is more dependent on circulation/ventilation than the type of substrate you use. For example I use unprinted newspaper and can keep a steady %60 humidity while misting only 1-2 times a week.

if a corn likes it, mine will like it. they like to borrow, so i need something they can burrow in
