thinking about switching around the heat source.

So as of right now on all three of my animal plastics tanks I am running an 80w RHP with herpstats to them all. I keep the probe inside the tank hot glued to a fake branch and its maintaining an 88-90* hot spot. well upon thinking it isn't that safe because the snake can move the branch. (they have not yet)

I got a vision 221 with an ultratherm heat mat from a friend with a helix for 170 for my new boa. It got me to think I want to switch over all the tanks to the ultra therms and call it a day. What is your imput on the ultratherms? I may buy one and experiment with it to see how it is on one of my tanks and go from there but it seems to be keeping the ambients in the vision tank around 75 and her hot spot right at 88-90

Re: thinking about switching around the heat source.

I use both for each enclosure.

For the T-stat probe with the RHP, you should secure it to a non moving branch with zip ties.

Ill post some pictures below you can see that my branches are actually attached to the cage via eye and hook screws, then the probes are zip tied to the branch so it never moves, no matter what the snake does.

If you end up switching, I'll buy one of your RHPs
