New Reptiles Discovered

Hey guys. Hope all is well with you. Check out this article my wife linked me. Pretty cool- its about new reptiles species discovered in Australia.

Not unless they are smuggled out of the country. It's illegal to export out of Australia.

Then how did things like bearded dragons and carpet pythons ever make it into the pet trade? Just curious.

They were exported prior to the ban. Some of the others like Blue tongue skinks have been imported through New Guinea. There is some question as to the numbers of animals that were smuggled out of Australia into New Guinea that have made it into the pet trade.
