Cupcake :)

So here's Cupcake. She likes to nudge me and hiss sometimes, but she's learning that her tantrums don't phase me one single bit.

One weird thing I noticed is that she constantly keeps her tail wrapped around herself (her tail movement also seems awkward and "floppy")

Could it be from a injury?

Maybe. She has awkward/clumsy tail movement and she strikes if I touch it. So it's possible.

Good point. She was on edge, but then she wrapped her tail around my leg and her mood instantly changed. Maybe it is just about comfort. However she does move her tail weird sometimes

Re: Cupcake :)

My IJ always has the end of her tail wrapped around something. I feel like it's just for comfort or security.

I think it's mostly a comfort thing.

Re: Cupcake :)

Just a quick update... I originally thought that she doesn't look like a normal so I asked her previous owner if she was a morph. She said "I don't know. When I got her, as a baby, I was told she was something special because of her tail, but it's been three years so I don't remember".
After looking at her and getting a second opinion, I think she's a square tail.

Re: Cupcake :)

She is a circle back ladder tail. It's just a common pattern. A true Square tail is also a color morph if I remember correctly.

Re: Cupcake :)

Well now I'm curious.. She was told that this snake was a morph but she doesn't remember which morph. I originally thought jungle. Creamy tail, lack of black spots in saddles (no broken head pattern, though)

Everybody thinks their snake is a morph. People don't really understand morphs so they think any slight difference is a morph.

Also not a jungle at all. It is a common boa. It may be a circle back ladder tail but they're not really considered a morph.

What you need to do is go on some big breeders website's and look at properly labeled morphs. That guy is nowhere near a jungle.

Re: Cupcake :)

I couldn't tell you since breeding is not my primary focus. Even though I have enough vartiety in my collection to breed year round, I prefer to keep them as pets. I still do occasionally breed and have produced 1 clutch of Corns but I prefer to look at breeding as a bonus for me.
