Re: Whats your favorite Plastic brand?

I don't know about UK enclosures but I like animal plastics with sliding doors. It looks very sleek and simple. They also provide shelving options(as do other brands).

I use PVC cages for my chondros but I wouldn't use it for animals that move around alot because the gap between the doors is so narrow there is no space for sliding door locks, so if a heavy snake were to lean up against the doors it could easily be opened.

Re: Whats your favorite Plastic brand?

I know somebody over here who uses Lanzo cages for his snakes and highly recommends them. They are pricey and you have to get them over from Germany but he says they are outstanding quality. I had a look at them at Doncaster last time and they did seem very good I just can't afford them yet but eventually I want to change all my vivs over to plastic ones.

LANZO Herp Cages - Home

There is another company in the UK that are quite new to the market but seem to be getting good reviews and I think their prices are relatively reasonable. If only I could remember their name. When I do I will let you know.

Re: Whats your favorite Plastic brand?

Shelves are a great bonus, dont see them often - how do you get on with humidity and sliding doors Mikoh? I've always avoided them for high humidity species, except for my Sav, but the gap is sealed

Thanks Donnie, Lanzo cages look interesting, espcially like their back-opening setups, lots of viewing space at the front

is the other company you are referring to called NonStop? came across them the other day, personally I feel that the front doesnt offer a good viewing size-ratio, the build quality looks excellent tho

Yes, that's them NonStop Reptiles. Been racking my brains (not much effort there ) to remember their name. I thought they might have been at Doncaster last weekend but they were not so I haven't seen them up close but when I have the cash I will do some serious reasearch myself into all the plastic viv manufacturers or you can do it all now and I will just contact you

Re: Whats your favorite Plastic brand?

That's strange, did you drill extra ventilation? I've never had any problems with humidity with sliding doors. Actually with my pvc cages I had to drill a whole bunch of holes and the humidity stays around 70% without misting. That's another reason I like PVC Cages for Chondros.

I've found that stuffing the cage with more stuff always helps with humidity, like branches, fake plants...etc so when you mist the enclosure more surface area is available for the water to stick on.

no i didnt drill any holes, i am wondering if it was the glass itself, the temperature difference is far higher between glass doors and air, and plastic and air, glass may well lead to faster circulation of warm and cold air, in and out of the enclosure, than plastic

Habistat and NonStop are the only commercial enclosure builders i've found so far in the UK, i've read about others which supply zoo's and things like that, but not for the private sector
