Shed not in one piece?

So, Chim's done shedding, but it's all in pieces around her viv. I've pulled most of it out, but there are still a few bits hanging around. I haven't found the head part, but I can see the tip of the tail. It's sorta stuck under the lid. Snake's there too, she likes to chill out there.

Is the shed being in bits something to be concerned about? She seems healthy, just hanging out.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

Update: Just looked her over, her tailtip, head, and patches on her body aren't shed.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

Humidity could be too low. Do you keep her in a screen top enclosure?

Re: Shed not in one piece?

It's at 54-ish percent. And yeah, it's a screen top. I've soaked her in lukewarm water, hoping that'll help.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

Took a closer look at the shed, and the top of the head and both eyecaps are there. So I guess it could be worse.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

Weird 54% shouldn't be too bad. Could you show us a picture of your enclosure? Does your grey rat snake spend alot of time in the canopy climbing? Maybe where your snake spends most of it's time is not where you are measuring the humidity.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

As soon as I figure out how, as the pictures are all on my phone. And no, she spends most of her time hiding under the corkbark I have in there. At least when I'm around, for all I know, she practises elaborate knots while wearing a fruit hat while I'm not hanging around.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

You can send the pictures to your email, download the pictures and upload them on tinypic or photobucket to get the url.

Sounds fine to me, I don't know why she would have trouble shedding. You can try increasing the overall humidity inside the enclosure
or next time he sheds you can give him a humid hide.

Re: Shed not in one piece?

I have a humidity guage, hygrometer, whatever you want to call it. I tried putting in a humid hide, but I guess it was a bit late. She ignored it/didn't find it.
