chlorine in water

Hi guys. I just moved to a new house and got my sav in a new 8x4x4;cage. But my old house I got reverse osmosis eater filter so I dump water from that into the old tank. The new house we don't have that filter so water got chlorine and is hard water. Will it be safe to dump unfiltered water in the tank? Wouldn't chlorine residue accumulate overtime?

There should be water purifier drops at the petstore. Either that or can't you buy a machine for filtered water? I don't know what it is called but in my house I have a machine that is hooked up to the tap water, and we can basically drink out of that. That is what I use for my snakes.

Just give it to him, he will be fine. You can always leave it in a bucket out in the open over night with a fish tank bubbler at the bottom and by morning the chlorine will be gone. I learned that keeping fish, the chlorine hitches a ride to the surface on the bubbles and leaves.

Do you mean the chlorine evaporates? I always thought chlorine had to be either filtered or broken down by drops.

Dunno if its the correct scientific term but yes, 24 hours in an open bucket and the chlorine is out.

You don't even really need the bubbler, but it makes things quicker.

over worrying again, don't sweat it, make sure your overall husbandry is good and these types of issues will not present problems. I've never filtered the water for my animals and they treat the water here, plus I use bleach to clean and have never had an issue.
