What to pick up at the expo?

It's the Canadian National Reptile Breeder's Expo in two weeks---this person right here is stoked and hopes the next two weeks goes by really quick

I'm also debating a new critter...but given the myriad of possibilities I just *can't* make up my mind.

So here's what I've got currently:

'11 male pastel BP
'02 male BCI mix (hogg island x columbian)

The fun part is my local municipalities only restrictions are: can you buy it in a pet shop.

My personal restrictions are: not too big, my comfortable max would be about 8 ft (unless really hefty) and preferably at least moderately docile (unless we're talking spiders etc). I'm not really a lizard person (except monitors and tegus and there is no way I've got the space/energy for those guys unfortunately) partially because I like my set the temps, humidity and add thawed rodent as needed---crickets, uv and all the supplements and veggies and basking lights...not my thing.

I was thinking:

-brongersmai blood python
-carpet python (haven't picked a subspecies yet)
-bci (albino morph probably)

Annndd if I can convince my roommate my personal get over my fear project is a female brachypelma smithi.

Up for anything really, so suggest away

You don't like island or dwarf boas? Carpets are awesome. I'm planning on breeding them in the near future.

I guess I sort of count my male BCI as a dwarf he's about 5.5 feet and thin so I figure if I've already got a boa that size/type...why get the same thing?

The carpets are interesting, I really like the jag morph in particular

Don't own any, but I've always liked to see, and hold Jungle Carpets. They're really cool, and I'd have one if I could afford one at the moment lol

Re: What to pick up at the expo?

get a jungle carpet or IJ. Without a doubt the most manageable among what you listed, and meets all your requirements. Both beautiful and cheap, hardy and tame usually. Adult bloods can be a handful and very heavy, and adult bci require a bit more space.

I'd also consider a colubrid since you have a boa and python already. Maybe some sort of rat or smaller cribo.

Garters are some of the most under rated snakes. They stay small, eat many different kinds of food other than rodents and come in some awesome colors.

They don't have to eat rodents.

He was saying they eat other things than just rodents whereas most snakes just eat rodents.

You can't go wrong with a kingsnake. Beautiful morphs, great eaters, modestly sized, and easy to care for.
