Looking for medium size 8-10 ft Boa.
Good morning guys. I am looking to upgrade my collection.
I know a fare amount about Boas but the but I am very weak on the breeds/Locals.
I am looking for one that gets approx.,. 8-10, little bigger is ok. I understand these are the BCC and not the BCI.
Can anyone suggest one, possible grey in color.
Thanks Guys.

Re: Looking for medium size 8-10 ft Boa.
Suriname's are on the more silver/grey side. They also have stunning red tails and get the size you want. Slow growers but definitely the way to go. But judging from your experience and what you have I'd say go to BCI common Colombian. They get pretty big. More brown but better to start off with. Less sensitive, and overall more docile.
Make sure you do your research though. Big jump from a 3 foot kingsnake to an 8 foot boa but I don't see anything wrong with it if done correctly.

Wouldn't it take a few years to get that large? His experience will grow with it.

I may take your advice on the BCI just because I just found this little sweet heart and a GREAT price. I understand that they can reach 10ft.

Check reptilescanada classified. Even kijiji has some nice ones here and there. In my opinion your best bet would be an expo. A lot are overpriced online , I wouldn't pay more than 200 for a baby.

Unfortunately due to resent issues I can not afford it.
One day soon maybe.
I'm still crying over it.

I think you should wait to get one if money is that tight. Trust me on this.

Its not that money is tight. I just had to spend $1000.00 unexpectedly on my car on Friday. The $1000.00 I have saved for a new snake is gone.
I still have cash for a lesser beast, just not a $750.00 snake.
I have other saving, just no fun money right now.

Re: Looking for medium size 8-10 ft Boa.
Thanks for all the input guys.
BTW, my MBK is nearly 5ft and still growing. I have owned and raised two red tails a few years back. I'm pretty good with there care but yes, I will still be doing a lot of reading.
I just SUCK at Identifying their species.

Re: Looking for medium size 8-10 ft Boa.
That's a stunning bci! Yea they're super cheap. I'd definitely go with it. And 10 foot is huge for a boa, and not likely to be attained by a BCI. 8 foot being on the big side. So I wouldn't say the snake your looking for is medium sized.
