need a ball python recap

Hello all! I have been thinking about getting a ball python recently and I was wondering what the best care for it would be. I have a big exo terra tank also and I was wondering if id be able to keep it in there for its whole life. The tank dimensions are 36x18x18. What is the best bedding for these guys, humidity, temps, etc. Im really interested in these guys and think it would be awesome to have one! Theres a reptile show coming up here June 29-30 and I was planning to get one from a breeder then. Just let me know what y'all think and some helpful tips for a somewhat newbie!

Personally i would use a 4x2x2ft viv for a BP, will last it all its life, as a baby provide LOTS of hides and cover to keep the snake feeling secure.

Hot end 91f cool end no lower than 78f, humidity 55-60% inless in shed when it needs to be over 70%.

personally i use bark as a substrate as it helps with the humidity levels and is easy to spot clean.

A 36"x18"x18" will most likely work for a male his whole life unless he grows up to be a really big boy, a female will need the larger tank.

I've used both repti-bark and cypress mulch as substrate and either works for maintaining humidity. Personally I use the cypress as I found it is much less dusty, and I can buy it in bulk locally.

False.

It's a fine size for an adult male or female barring it isn't an exception to the rule and grows abnormally large.

Enclosures that are good at holding humidity are best for Ball Pythons - so no, an exoterra would not be an optimal choice unless you want to jerry-rig it to hold in humidity.

I recommend you order a PVC cage online which will look a lot better as well.. use a radiant heat panel hooked to a thermostat to heat it..
