Coral Snakes of the Orinoco River Delta

I worked in the Orinoco River delta for about 120 days. The medical officier had a large book on snakes of South America. I almost picked up a small slender black snake with a bright yellow belly. I found the picture in the med officier's snake book. It was a coral snake but I forgot the genus & species.

Are any of you here familiar with or have a book with pictures of the snakes of the Orinoco River delta in Venezuela.

Thanks

Re: Coral Snakes of the Orinoco River Delta

I think if I ever went to S. America I would die really quickly from not being able to resist picking up snakes.
