Summer temps

I am sure there are other threads on this but they arent up to date and I want to see what current users are doing.

With summer right around the corner temps are rising and I was wondering what all of you do to keep your herps cool. Do you keep the air conditioner on all year? Use a window unit just for the room where the herps are? Turn off all heat lamps and let them be? Ext...

Last year I kept the air on all most all year and that really hurt my wallet! I also want to add that I just bought a house and I work 8-5pm so leaving the windows wide open isnt really an option since it isnt the best neighborhood (it isnt a bad area but i dont want to tempt people by leaving all my windows open lol)

What do all of you do to keep your babies from over heating?

Re: Summer temps

The room mine are in gets to be 85 in the summer during the day but falls to about 75 at night. I do nothing to cool it. Their heat sources are off from the thermostat. I don't see the need to cool them.
