Close...but how close?

She's "huggin' the heat" and laying almost completely on her side! Can we use this to make an educated guess in how close she might be to birth?

Re: Close...but how close?

Impossible to say. Look for her lump moving down (as Dave noted) then her casting about for a place to lay (as I noted). She may also leave a waxy stool shortly beforehand.

Good luck!

Re: Close...but how close?

The article i was telling you about in the other threads says they will lay on their side or backs roughly two to four weeks before giving birth.

Waxy stool confirmed! We're getting closer!!!

Remember your first litter/clutch? How did you not eat and sleep in front of the enclosure(s)?

Re: Close...but how close?

I passed out leaning on the glass of my incubator... Consider yourself lucky, you only need to wait for the babies to come flying out, when it comes to eggs, the eggs slit and 2-3 days later the babies come out lol.
Also, grats! Her first litter?

Re: Close...but how close?

It's like watching a pot boil, Roy. ;-) The more you fuss, the longer it takes!

Good luck on a healthy litter.

Re: Close...but how close?

I'm so terrible at waiting.

She's seriously on her side today. No pacing yet. I mean for her. Me? Well...
