What's wrong?

My baby ball python has managed to crawl under it's waterbowl (it's hollowed out on the bottom) and it hasn't come out since yesterday morning. Today is feeling day and the way it's in there I can't get it out! I've picked up the water bowl and all but it's still not budging

Re: What's wrong?

Leave it alone. Your snake wanted a secure place to hide and it found it. Place the food in the viv and leave it alone ( only if you feed FT not if you feed live)

Agreed and to add, it might be cold. What are your temps?

I would say it might be to hot not to cold.. Temps are a good thing to check.

When something is to hot it will look for a cooler place to go. The water could offer some relief from the heat.

Re: What's wrong?

if you notice you have to go on a search to find snakes in the wild. there not just out an about unless looking for a note to eat. snakes are very private sedentary animals. if there is a place to hide in it's cage that's where it will be

But wouldn't it get in the water then?

In the wild snakes bury themselves for the winter. I'm betting it's temps aren't high enough.

Re: What's wrong?

My snake spent 5 days in the moss tub that's in the viv to help with humidity and when I went to see if she was OK she went for me I left her were she was lol, came out on her own and not been near it since nothing wrong with temps just that were she wanted to be. Now she sits on opposite side next to the glass nothing in the viv has changed so I would just let her do her thing.

A healthy Ball Python will usually spend the vast majority of its time hidden away, only to explore when it's dark, in the middle of the night...
