Re: rfuk

Apparently CaptiveBred AND also RFUK forums have BOTH been hacked , presumably by anti-reptile people.

Hope our defences are in place !

Here are a couple of posts from their Facebook page;

Admin Note and Problem Update: Here at RFUK we would like to apologise for the main site still being down..

We were the victims of a DOS(Denial of Service Attack). The problem is being dealt with as we speak and hopefully very soon we will be up and running again.

Tuesday Afternoon Admin Update:

Sorry folks we are still not active. I have spoken to the big chief and the technical team and am reliably informed that RFUK will be back up and running within twenty four hours. Quite possibly a lot sooner.

An awful lot of money has been spent to bring down RFUK, which is all I can say at this time about the situation. As a result we at RFUK have spent an awful lot of money protecting the system which once up and running I am reliably informed will be totally safe and secure. No personal information has been taken so everyone's details are safe.

Other Reptile sites have been or are also under attack. Hopefully we can all work together and get things back on line for our hobby and bring prosecutions against those who find the need to sabotage what we all love.

Re: rfuk

I was wondering what was wrong - I'm pretty regularly on RFUK and hadn't been able to get on for a day or so, but I'd assumed the site was just undergoing maintenance or something.

What kind of jackasses would go to that kind of trouble to interfere with a non-political, utterly inoffensive-to-anyone hobby forum? Nutcases("serpents are THE DEVIL", sort of thing)? Or just jerks seizing on a random target?

Re: rfuk

If a lot of money has been spent to bring down a uk forum then my guess would be the APA (animal protection agency)... They'd have the funding and motive.

They're on a vendetta against reptiles in the Uk at the moment. Last year quite a few shows were closed due to them using propaganda and scare tactics on local councils... Amongst death threats and bomb threats towards the expo's.. Sad times.
