Which size enclosure for 13ft burm??

So I just picked up another burm, big 13 maybe 14ft male and very girthy for a male. I need to temporarily put him in a enclosure while I build him a new one that is more suitable.

I have a 2' tall x 2' deep x 7' cage and a 2 1/2' tall x 2 1/2' deep x 5' long enclosures available at the moment. A 7 ft female needs to go in one of them and this big male in the other.

So question is what do you think would be better to temporarily put him in, the shorter cage with wider/more floor space or the longer cage that's more narrow? I'am personally thinking the short wider cage just because there is alot more room for him to coil up versus the narrow one.
