New addition - Profile: Ashanti

Meet Ashanti, a male pastel ball python that is possibly het for clown. I saw him at the Northwest Metro Reptile Expo on August 18th and absolutely fell in love with him! I finally got him today and now he's all settled in and tucked away in his hide. I was in love with him at the expo, where he looked plain, brown, and pretty dang unappealing, and when I met up with the breeder today he was absolutely stunning! The photos definitely don't do his color justice. He's a very bright yellow fellow, not lemon pastel bright but definitely has a pretty color all over.

I named him Ashanti, after the indian myth of the snake that wraps around the world.

He's absolutely gorgeous in my eyes. He's very docile too, well handled. I'm being a little careful with how I hold him because he's not adjusted to me yet, but he is very mild and aware of his surroundings (I love his eyes for that reason! I can see where he is looking, haha). His sides still make me curious though. That almost solid line between the two different colors is an odd quirk. The only morphs with clear color distinction like that, that i've seen were spiders and Calicos and their variations. I've looked at pastels and not seen anything like this. O.o

Shanti was out and about in his tank for the second night in a row. Took him out to get some close up shots in a mini-photo session.

He found himself a jungle gym... of hair. He wouldn't come out for about five minutes, haha.

Well Hello...

He's got some beautiful blushing on his back - this is one of the smaller blushes

My favorite blush on him, it's so easy to find every time!

You mean aurora borealis if so nothing can describe it until you have seen it yourself.

When I was in Norway I saw then and it was amazing...

No... I spelled it wrong regardless, but the Oroboros, of a snake 'eating' its own tail.

In this case it's a knot of three snakes.

I will! I'm working on it right now. The heads are the hardest parts.... such tiny scales... Got Shanti and Val down, working on Romy! I hope it turns out like the macro one of Val did

It's in that higher detail style!

Sunny Photo shoot today.

Not as many pictures as Val, while Shanti is very photogenic he is also a little quicker than her and he doesn't sit still for more than a moment or two. Will post the pics after this reply.

As a side note - Shanti was NOT afraid to go exploring the grass on his own, unlike Val who needed ushering to do so. lol
