Lemke Line???
So my 2010 Hog Island Boa is being shipped on Monday so it will be here on Tuesday and I have read on a different forum these boas are pure hogs from a line called Lemke. Any body know anything about it?
The snake is from DesertmoonReptile.com

Re: Lemke Line???
see below is part of an email from the gal at desert moon , when i asked about the history of the clutch (incudng both of yours) :
the father was from Zelph Ridgeway in Florida (we picked him up at the Daytona show), and the mother is the granddaugher of our original female from Tim Belknap, who procured his from Lloyd Lemke.
Below is what i found out after much searching and chatting with people in the snake business , maybe others can tell you more.
Zelph is/was a big time reptile breeder , though not sure where he got the father from I believe it was also a lemke line as he had alot of the original imported ones from LLoyd also I think . Tim Belknap was also a big time breeder back in the day and worked on Hogs as well as other snakes. Lloyd Lemke also was a big time breeder , but he got his stock from the island the hogs come from as I think he was one of the first people to import them to the usa before the restrictions. I believe Lloyd Lemke was one of the founders of ZooMed also , he is no longer alive though. There are many Lemke line snakes out there , besides hog islands as he worked on other boas too. Lemke line hogs were bred for lighter colors and oranges/pinks/peaches and speckles , are 100% hog island stock so long as they were not cross bred which desert moon assured me they are not. They will get larger than a typical hog , but not much. this is why they look slightly different that hogs from rio bravo and cuttingedgeherp , who also have 100% hogs from the islands but they did not do any selective breeding . Lemke's are a bit harder to find now , if you want to breed them get stock from Rio Bravo or Cutting Edge . if you do some searches of these names you can find out more , but all this was back in the 90's and early 2000's so info is sparse. My info may be wrong also , maybe someone who knows more can post .
Here is a hog pic from the island , notice how much darker it is compared to lemke line hogs .
And a lemke line hog
