Atheris chlorechis (Western bush vipers)

I took this pic of one of my Western bush vipers today and just had to share it with you guys...

Atheris chlorechis are small semi-arboreal vipers averaging between 45 and 80cm as adults (females are usually the larger of the two sexes). They boast strong hemotoxic venom and can deliver a serious bite although deaths are rare.

It's common for females to give birth to babies that are yellow or brown in colour instead of the normal green. These will however undergo a drastic change in colour that can happen literally over night ! (from yellow or brown to green).

They are pretty hardy and easy to keep when compared to other species of the genus Atheris.

If you have any Q's regarding this species feel free to ask !

ENJOY !

Regards
Louis.
