how much do ringers normally cost? i have some guy who wants to sell me one, but i have no idea what they go for, since i've never heard of one before now. he told me to make him an offer. what would be reasonable?? its a non proven male.

Re: ringer ball pythons

A ringer ball python is a very low-white pied ball python. I'm not following the market enough to tell you the price for either of those morphs though... maybe someone else will chime in.

Actually, I think ringers arent piebalds at all, but they are actually frequently confused with piebalds. They share no similar genetics, and the ringer gene is still a mystery, I believe.

Heres two pictures of ringers:

The body patterns on these ringers are normal. The odd white spots are random and are often the reason people confused them for piebalds. You can tell they arent piebalds because pieds have a very aberrant and wild body pattern, and those ringers look nothing like it.

Heres a picture of a low white pied:

Re: ringer ball pythons

Ringers are normals so pay the price you would for a nice normal. I'll dish out $500 for the right normal female, if thats any consolation. I haven't found her yet though... A ringer would be a good choice though! For me though(I hate pieds...) wouldn't pay more then $200 for one. Hope this helps.

Great description Mattchibi, I'm really liking your posts! Descriptive and aim to help!

Re: ringer ball pythons

Well a female ringer for $75 isn't half bad at all!! Some still sell normal female babies for that. But I guess that's all a ringer is, but still you got a bit of a steal I think. Pics when you can!
Moving is a pain(I'm moving too...) and very costly.... Good luck with your dog, that must be one serious surgery.... We just put one of our dogs down recently, it's amazing what we'll go through for them. Good luck, Fire balls will be really cheap soon, don't worry too much, and I really hope your dog pulls through. Caylan.s.

Re: ringer ball pythons

Ringers are not completely "normal" but the scattered white spots have not proven to be genetic yet.....two ringers bred together can produce all normal babies. $75 isn't bad for one, if you like it. I personally don't care about ringers and wouldn't want one at all- it's another mouth to feed for something that will never be worth breeding. I'd personally hold out until Pieds become cheaper- I've seen nice medium white male pieds at expos for $600.
