Re: Amazon Tree Boa !!
congrats on the tree boa mate, excellent addition to any collection...
i keep my young ones in tubs with the mat, statted and underneath as even tho they are arboreal they will spend alot of time on the ground, especially during the day so i reckon underfloor heating is the way to go or perhaps both if its a super tall tub?
heres how mine looks...

Re: Amazon Tree Boa !!
thanks man, that one of youres is nice man and seems friendly enough, tho they dont like sudden movements and will go for the face, i have near been caught a few times...
and yea man i cover half the underside of mine and use orchid bark as substrate. they dont need super high humidity either contrary to popular belief, i only spray mine everyother day, give it a good soak like and make sure to spray the walls and the snake itself as they will drink the drops tho i still offer water in a dish for them.
the bamboo is a cheap and easy way to create perches too mate as they like to climb at night, just be sure to leave no sharp edges...

Re: Amazon Tree Boa !!
no probs mate, happy to help. i would feed every week mate, i do mine every 5-7 days and every couple of weeks il skip a week just to mix it up for them. and it will surprise you just how big a prey item they can take, dont let the skinny neck fool you they can take alot bigger than you think they can.
that wee black one of mine in the pic, its neck right behind its heat is about 3-4mm wide and you wana see it take down rat pups that are 1cm mabye slightly more, its crazy.
cool name by the way, love that stuff...

Re: Amazon Tree Boa !!
sweet mate, make sure the food is nice and warm for it, mine wont eat if its not but a quick blast with the hairdryer soon sorts that out.
