Jungle X coastal carpet photos
This is our 2 year old male Jungle X coastal carpet python - looks a lot like our jungles except has no yellow, but is much calmer. Where the jungles are quite nervous, this guy is very confident - likes to explore and not reluctant to be handled at all - neer even does the huffy, breathy thing the others do when they are fed up with being held. Not sure who the breeder was but we have had him since he was a hatchling and were told it was an accidental breeding.

Wow, that is a very nice cross! The white on black is very attractive! Are you going to breed him?

Thanks for comments.
ZoeStevens - no we have no plans to breed this guy - though he is a great snake, this happy accident ends here. While I like some colubrid intergrades, I have so far been very impressed with the differences among the carpet python types and wouldn't want to mix these up - not that we are any where near being ready to breed carpets. So far our Irians are the hands down winners for us in terms of color, variety and temperament and if we ever do try breeding carpets, it will be with them.
But this guy is a great display snake - he has our largest vertical cage and can always be depended on to show off his arboreal feeding for any visitors.

LOOKS & SOUNDS FAMILIAR...
I HAVE A FEMALE JUNGLE/COASTAL CARPET CROSS THAT IS APPROX. SAME SIZE & AGE. I AQUIRED IT THROUGH A FELLOW WHO HAD GOTTEN IT THRU HENRY PIORUN (ONE OF HIS BUDDIES BRED THEM). IT SOUNDS LIKE HER TEMPERMENT/DISPOSITION ETC. IS THE SAME AS YOUR MALE. I'LL PROBABLY BRED HER IN THE FUTURE TO KYLE'S JUNGLE CARPET MALE & EVENTUALLY TO A COASTAL MALE THAT I HAVE (AQUIRED THIS YEAR AS BABY). I'LL HAVE TO SEND YOU SOME PICS ONCE DECENT ONES ARE TAKEN. MARK ISBELL - GONE SNAKEE!

Hi Mark,
We saw that female for sale through TARAS and thought she was likely a sibling - not that many of this combination around. Nice coastal youngster you sent photos of too. Thanks,
Mary v.
