Yea im almost positive they can... even animals with the slightest intelligence can tell there own kind. I agree though even if she couldnt tell Tango was her own kind hes way to small of a meal for her.

Burmese pythons are not known to be cannibalistic, or to eat other snakes, to the best of my knowledge. I would not leave them unattended together though.
Beautiful pictures...I love how albino Burms start out that peachy orange and lighten to such a light bright yellow as they age.

Yea ive never heard of them being cannibalistic or even eating another snake for that matter. And no never, just a few pictures then they were separated. And i love it to, they start the orange color, then fade to that beautiful Golden color then to the lighter yellow color as they get older. And thanks everyone for your compliments!

Burms tend to be pretty mellow, they are generally slow moving, their feeding response isnt overly impressive and they are not prone to biting at all. Great giant

SOOO cute!!  I love that fisrt pic especially, the baby seems to be imitating mum's position almost exactly! Probably one of my favorite pics I have seen on this forum so far  (dare i say that?!)
