New Home for Hognose
First off I would just like to say how I love that I am the only one around here that either has a hognose or posts about it. I feel special.
Anyways I don't have photos of it yet, but I plan on getting at least one good one in a little while, but today I revamped Adelina's home today seeing how she wasn't very active and seemed to just hide all the time. So spent what extra I had and snagged some "Sani-Bark" mulch type bedding and this big stump type thing that was meant for aquariums but looked cool so snagged it.
So we cleaned up and setup everything and for the first time ever I saw Adelina cruising around the entire aquarium and actually chilling outside her coconut halves hides. She even "played" around the stump for a bit cruising in and out of all the holes that were in it. Honestly she seems so much happier already.
Will be posting pictures either later tonight or tomorrow to see what people think and of course to show her off more.

Yeah mine does that sometimes, though it always seemsto be when she wants to make herself go between my fingers.

Re: New Home for Hognose
Thanks as always CH^4 Now I just gotta work on my beardies setup. It has been lacking for a long while and it isn't fair to my grumpy guy LOL Though TBH I am not sure how to make it better or what I should or shouldn't put into his home.

Re: New Home for Hognose
Thanks Marvel, when she gets older I have seen these multilevel fake rock hides I plan on getting that will fit in the corners of her home to give her yet more things to explore. She is so small now those funky coconuts were the smallest thing I could find...even though I hate them >.<

Re: New Home for Hognose
Good looking snake. I was offered a small group of them recently. Hard to turn down but I didn't have the money for them. Had a couple of albinos in the group so it was higher priced. Add more substrate. They love to burrow!

Re: New Home for Hognose
I do love hognose. I will probably get another come April when we have tax money to blow...make it a birthday present from my hubby (april 26).
Anyways I know it doesn't look like a whole heck of a lot of bedding but she easily covers her entire body with the stuff so much so that I have a hard time finding her. As she grows though you can bet I will add more! She just loves to scoot around.

Re: New Home for Hognose
I have to say that since we got the new setup she has done laps underneath the bedding around the corners of her home. And when she isn't doing that she tries to go from coconut half to stump to other coconut half. She is very happy I think and hopefully this will get her to eat more readily as well. I wouldn't eat if I wasn't happy.
