Well, Finally
It's been about two months since my female Nicaraguan has taken any food. I've been trying every 7 to 10 days, I've wasted a few rats, and a couple of my other snakes have gotten extra meals. I've moved her to a quiet part of the house away from all of my other snakes. I have left her alone aside from misting and water changes. Today was about 12 days since the last time I tried to feed her. I took out the rat and thawed. Got it nice and warm, waved it around the inside of her cage and laid it on top of her large hide. I then left the room for about a half an hour and when I came back she was eating. What a relief. I was concerned, but not overly so. I knew she would eat when she was ready, but every time she refused was just such a let down. it is so gratifying to see her finally enjoying a meal.

Re: Well, Finally
Congrats, always frustrating when you can't figure out what is going on in their little snake brains. You think, you should be hungry, why won't you eat? I have had animals eat perfect every time then all of a sudden go off feed for several feedings and then go back to normal. I now think that this behavior is weather, temp, and humidity mixed with shedding time dependent. Reptiles are much more sensitive to very subtle changes in the environment that we sometimes overlook.
