rat bath

So over the weekend i got my first breeders, i got the male from the pet store near me and had to drive a hour to get the 2 females.

well i think the male was a pet because he is really sweet and does not bite but the other owner did not take care of him and he smelled bad so today i took him a bath lol.

yeah he pooped in the water, but he liked his bath

now we have a nice clean rat

his 2 girl friends

Re: rat bath

Awwww!! What a cutie!! Some of my pet rats enjoy their little bath time... others hate it and sit there with this look on their face like "whatever it was that I did that made you do this to me... I'm sorry!" Thankfully I don't need to bathe them too often...

Re: rat bath

You can use a wee bit of oatmeal shampoo or baby shampoo and make sure you rinse them off thoroughly. It will cut the smell down.

Re: rat bath

Cute little rats! I wish I could raise my own, but I just couldn't bring myself to kill them. They're just too cute.

Re: rat bath

I know the feeling Press...I get all of my snakes onto f/t because I end up feeling badly for the rats if they're fed live. I'm a sucker like that. I have two pet rats that were supposed to be food but the snake in question was scared of them and they did cute little rat things, and my fiance and I both said, "awww" so we kept them. Dangit, we're softies...lol.
