Re: hogg island boa
You should change the substrate. It's a good looking snake but something like mulch, paper towel or newspaper would work better.

Re: hogg island boa
MY MALE HOG IS OVER 6 FEET LONG
HIS SHEDS ARE LONGER THAN I AM TALL ( im 6'1" )
most snakes sheds seem to be longer than the snake actually is... in my experience anwyays.. but the snake is over 6' long.
and he is a proven breeder. i know its male for sure

Re: hogg island boa
They are still fairly small boas. They are an island species which means in the wild they obtain shorter lengths than they do in captivity. This is due to the fact there is an abundance of food available while they sit inside an enclosure. On an island, it's usually less available so they grow smaller. I believe the average you're looking at is 4 - 5.
Don't realyl judge a snake by it's shed. They can be stretched out to look longer.

Re: hogg island boa
it was my mistake, i see how you would have thought i was breeding them. i did say i was going to.. i just dont like to get too off topic in my replies. lol i could go on for hours about what i have here and whats goin on with them all and future plans.
know anybody who wants to buy a het albino female burm. 6' long? 1 yr old. great snake, great appetite, just selling everythin i dont have breeding pairs of because we did a little breeding of our own, and i wont have time to keep odd animals im not breeding for source of extra income.

You should post that info on the classifieds.
