my new retic keeps soiling on me ??

i got my new dwarf albino retic a couple weeks ago and when i bring her out she pees and poos on me? she shows absolutly no sign of aggression and she likes getting pet from what i can tell and does not flinch ever even when touching her head, so i can understand why she does this? is this a retic thing? i have owned boas for about 6 years before i had to get rid of them and i have never even seen them go just seen the aftermath the next day. and i stinks like amonia realy bad not like normal pee but not to sure she has not gone in the cage yet to tell if its just her normal urine sent, everytime she has gone it on me or on my buddies girlfriend on friday LOL.... im starting to think its her being nervous because friday i had her out while bbq for like 6 hours then she wanted to hold it so i passed it off to her and within 10 min wamo she was soiled? or is it the amount of time i bring her out for?usually daily for a few hours? plz help with any info or past exp like this? thx

Well if it happens right away when you first take her out it's a defense. To try and scare you away from touching her. If it's hours later maybe it's still a defense telling you she wants to be left alone now. Or maybe she's smart enough not to do it where she sleeps.

WAY WAY WAY too much handling! 6 hours? Is this for real? Daily for a few hours? You should be letting the poor thing relax. FYI Handling = Stress You have had the poor thing but a couple weeks, no wonder its stressed out & musking all the time etc. You should have left it totally alone for the first week or so just to adjust to its new surroundings. Handlings should be limited to a few times a week & maybe 10-20 minutes at a time. You are spending way too much time interacting with this animal. Id suggest getting a dog for that & limit the time with the snake considerably from whats been going on. Seriously & sincerely Mark
edit - oh & if you don't want to take my word for it ask Henry Piorun the person whom you most likely purcahsed the snake from or who likely produced it anyway

ah ok well i do have a dog i just got no life lol
well ya i do keep her out alot but she is not active she just chills on my lap while i watch tv or play vids or drink beers with the buddies so i fig she fine but ya its not do it right away and when she does do it she does start moveing around so ill keep her out less and put her back when she start being uneasy, 2 bad tho i do enjoy interacting with my pets alot, its a big part of my life icluding my childhood.
do you think she will grow out of this? I read in a posting on this forum that sometimes it stimulates her bowels? its just i used to bring my boas out for all day trips down to the beach and bring them to picnics and bbqs for just as long as i do with this python? fig it was a species thing and my coastal carpet never does this either and she is out almost as much as the retic is and she never does anything

oh yeah i did get her from henry its his dark lavander female #1 on his website great guy even better breader and 1 hour from home really funny you called it

I figured it was from HP LOL Handling of course will get things moving as well. If its happening after its been out for a bit & is with the same person I'd chalk it up to that. If when first brought out or when first transferred to another person its more of a "stress" or "comfort" thing. I haven't kept Rettics but have heard its not uncommon for thm to pee/musk folks, specially WC ones, yours of course being CBB though. Yeah Henry has some nice stuff, I'll be checking it out & saying Hi to him this weekend at the Red Deer show. I bought my very first snake from HP way back in 1999. Cheers Mark

join the club. it happens when you don't handle them a lot or they just aren't used to being handled "enough".
