This morning I woke up and was checking out one my redtail when I seen it biting itself about 4 times. Does anybody know what would cause it to do this?
Thanks
Matt
My first guess would be its sick. A frind of mine who runs a reptile rescue came across a ball that had gotten out for 6 months, he was not too bad at first when he was found but after a couple months he would strike at shadows and even himself, he was was eventually put down. I would definately watch him closely over the next little bit.
I would go more along the lines of scent of food on itself, and boas being very stupid with the scent of food in the air, he thought his body was food and nailed it. It happens, and it usually has nothing to do with the snake being sick, but I can't say it never happens.
