need help ASAP
about 2 and a half months ago my beardies laied 24 infertile eggs. now i noticed she was starting to act weird again scratching at the walls of the tank and running all over the tank. about 4 days ago i woke up and found an egg sitting in the sand. so i putt a shoe box in her tank filled with peatmoss as i did before. this time she did not finish laying her eggs. i don't think it is common for them to lay only one egg plus she is still scratching and acting weired. i'm really worried about her. i have been giving her baths and gently massaging her stomach. but nothing. should i just cover the face on the tank with a towel togive her privace. she just doesn't look like she has any eggs in her. please any help would be appreciated i don't want to spend money at the vet if not nessary.

It might be because she was holding the eggs in because she couldn't find a suitable nesting spot. I had this happen to me before. I didn't know the female was gravid and they were infertile. I found one egg in the cage one afternoon so I gave her a lay box as soon as I found the egg. She didn't lay the rest of her eggs until 2-3 days later. Can't remember exact now but I also remember it took her 2 days to finish laying (25 infertile eggs in all). She seemed a bit lithargic for the first little bit. I too gave her a bath, not sure if it helped. But being alone in the cage to lay her eggs seemed to help. She was a bit week after wards too and I gave her lots of cal. and worms after she laid. She bounced back rather quickly though. I remember when I first found her I was so afraid of her being egg bound. But luckily it turned out alright. Now they have a lay box in there all through breeding season.

That depends on your brumation period. I usually give my guys a lay box a couple weeks after I take them out of brumation. By this time their temps are back to normal and some breeding activity starts, they don't usually lay for me for a couple months after anyway, but just incase. This year we were really late with brumation, with taking them outof it, and with eggs. lol But I know my girls pretty good and after I get 2-3 clutches from them I know they are done for the season. They usually lay ever 2-3 months but I do have a new girl this year, one of my hold backs from 2 years ago and I was surprised. Her first year breeding and she laid 2 clutches exactly a month apart. Now I'm waiting on July to see if she does this again. lol. But usually I can take the boxes out in August or September and they are done for the year.
Then they go back in brumation. They usually do it all by themselfs as the temps change in the basement and the daylight changes outside, once they start I help by not feeding and turning down the heat lamps.

Yes Yoshi laid her eggs finally. 19 in total. This is her second clutch and it's only been 1 month since the last one, almost to the date. My boyfriend (Tequila) and I were very worried that she was egg bound but were relieved when she finally laid. It was about 4 days after she laid that first egg. She had the nesting box that entire time but it might have been a little too dry or something. We misted the soil and started to dig a little in one corner for her and then whammy!, she went at it. Later that night she scarfed down 40 crickets, another 40-50 the next day, and she's been doing great since.

That is great, I'm so glad to hear that. you can also give her a nice treat of silkworms, butter worms and a few waxies after she lays. The extra fat in the waxies will be appriciated, and butters are great too. The silkies aren't always wanted for some reason, but they are great feeders.
