Last time i checked, a jaguar was a morph (like a mojave ball python) and not a hybrid.

Check the Barker book. Field studies indicate that Coastals and Jungles mix sympatrically in Northwestern Australia. The Barkers go further to say that cheynei is likely a smaller inland version ofmcdowelli.
And they are already classified by SCIENCE as the SAME species. Morelia spilota. They currently differ in subspecific status, but that is up for reclassification. The taxa is in a serious state of dissarray.
